Coaching Agreement & Disclaimer
This document sets out the terms under which Claire Murphy Coaching (“the Coach”)
provides coaching services to clients (“the Client”). By booking and attending coaching
sessions, the Client acknowledges and agrees to the following:
1. Nature of Coaching
- Coaching is a professional partnership designed to support self-reflection, clarity, and personal growth.
- Coaching is not therapy, counselling, or medical treatment, and does not replace professional advice from medical, legal, financial, or other qualified practitioners.
- The Coach does not provide answers but facilitates the Client in uncovering their own insights and direction.
2. Communication Between Sessions
- Coach-Initiated Contact: Claire may follow up via email or WhatsApp after a session to check in, request feedback, or invite a testimonial, as appropriate.
- Boundaries: Any deeper discussion or exploration of new topics will take place within a scheduled ad-hoc Zoom session.
- Availability: General scheduling or logistical communication (e.g., confirming times, payments, etc.) is welcome via email or WhatsApp.
3. Confidentiality
- All personal information shared during coaching is treated with strict confidentiality
- Exceptions to confidentiality apply only where required by law (e.g., risk of harm to self or others).
4. Client Responsibility
- The Client acknowledges that they are responsible for their own decisions, actions, and results arising from the coaching process.
- The Client agrees to engage honestly, openly, and to the best of their ability in the coaching process.
5. Fees & Payment
- Advance Payment: Payment is required in advance for all individual and group coaching sessions. Bookings are only confirmed once payment has been received.
- Speaking & Facilitation: Fees for speaking engagements, retreats, or facilitated sessions will be agreed separately and invoiced as arranged.
6. Cancellations & Rescheduling
- Clients may reschedule a session with at least 48 hours’ notice.
- Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice may be forfeited at the discretion of the Coach.
7. Intellectual Property
- All materials, exercises, and content shared in coaching sessions remain the intellectual property of Claire Murphy Coaching.
- Materials are provided solely for the Client’s personal use and may not be reproduced, shared, or distributed without written permission.
8. Disclaimer of Liability
- The Client understands that coaching is not a guarantee of specific results.
- Claire Murphy Coaching is not liable for any direct or indirect outcomes of coaching, including decisions or actions taken by the Client.
9. Suitability for Coaching & Right of Refusal
- Client Responsibility: By entering into coaching, the Client affirms that they are in a stable mental, emotional, and physical condition to participate. Coaching is not a substitute for medical, psychological, or other professional care. If the Client is experiencing significant mental health concerns, they are encouraged to seek appropriate professional support.
- Right to Decline or Discontinue: Claire reserves the right to decline or discontinue coaching with a Client if it becomes apparent that coaching is not an appropriate support at that time. In such cases, any session fees paid in advance for unused sessions will be refunded.
10. Data Protection
- Personal data shared with Claire Murphy Coaching will be securely stored and used solely for the delivery of coaching services, in line with data protection laws.
- Information will not be shared with third parties without consent, except where required by law.
11. Acknowledgement
- By booking and attending coaching with Claire Murphy Coaching, the Client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to the terms of this Coaching
